The Danfoss FC-302P7K5T5 is part of the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series and provides a power rating of 7.5 kW with 10 horsepower. It operates on three phase power at a mains voltage range of 380 to 500 VAC and has a maximum output frequency of 590 Hz. This drive supports a high-voltage warning at 840 V DC and accommodates up to 300 meters of unshielded motor cable.
Internal Product Review
The FC-302P7K5T5 is a Danfoss VLT FC 302 automation drive rated at 7.5 kW for 380 to 500 VAC operation. Three-phase power and IE2 energy efficiency make the unit a very capable choice for demanding automation duty. A 150 m shielded motor cable limit and 300 m unshielded motor cable limit are strong advantages for flexible installation.

Product Description:
The FC-302P7K5T5 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It serves as the power interface between a three-phase mains supply and an induction motor. The drive synthesizes variable voltage and frequency to regulate motor speed and torque in industrial automation applications. Its control capabilities suit conveyors, pumps, mixers, and other equipment that requires adjustable motor operation under changing process loads.
The inverter accepts a three-phase supply ranging from 380–500 VAC and has a rated mechanical output of 7.5 kW, which is equivalent to 10 HP. Under scalar control, the output frequency can be adjusted up to 590 Hz, while flux-vector mode supports frequencies up to 300 Hz. A torque rise time of 1 ms allows the drive to respond rapidly to load changes. Its efficiency meets class IE2, supporting reduced energy consumption during continuous operation. The drive permits no more than two power-ups per minute to protect the DC link from repeated charging stress. A high-voltage warning occurs at 840 V DC, the brake chopper activates at 810 V DC, and an overvoltage alarm latches at 855 V DC. The internal processor samples analog feedback at 12-bit resolution and provides torque commands through a 12-bit analog output.
Motor cable length is limited to 150 m with shielded leads to maintain electromagnetic compatibility and reliable motor operation. Installations using unshielded motor leads can extend the cable length to 300 m. Control terminals include a +10 V reference with a 15 mA capacity for external command devices and analog circuits. A separate 24 V logic rail supplies up to 200 mA for connected control equipment. Digital outputs can sink 40 mA, allowing them to operate compatible external relays or interface devices. Remote contactors must observe the permitted power-up rate to avoid excessive loading of the drive’s DC-link components.
