It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated output waveform, allowing plant controllers to vary induction-motor speed and torque without mechanical throttling. In automated conveyors, pumps, and material-handling stations, the unit provides controlled acceleration, deceleration, and process matching. It also limits the high inrush current that could otherwise occur when a connected motor starts directly from the mains supply.
