Product Description:
The FC-302P1K5T5E20H2BG is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. In automation systems, the unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a controlled output that allows a PLC to regulate induction motor speed and torque without mechanical throttling. By adjusting output frequency and voltage in real time, the drive supports efficient operation of conveyors, pumps, fans, and general-purpose industrial machinery. Its control capabilities also allow motor performance to follow changing process demands during acceleration, steady operation, and deceleration.
The drive accepts a mains input of 380–500 V AC, allowing direct connection to common 400 V distribution networks without a step-down transformer. It is designed for three-phase power, so its rectifier and inverter stages distribute the electrical load across the incoming phases. The continuous motor-side rating is 1.5 kW, which corresponds to a mechanical output of 2.0 HP. A built-in overload algorithm monitors operating conditions and helps protect the power electronics when motor demand rises above the continuous rating. The IP20 chassis enclosure helps prevent accidental finger contact with energized internal parts when the drive is correctly installed in a suitable cabinet. Its open chassis design permits cooling air to move through the unit, so the cabinet layout must provide the clearances and airflow required by the installation instructions.
A built-in brake chopper supports controlled deceleration by directing excess DC-bus energy to a compatible external braking resistor. This function is useful when a driven load returns energy during rapid stopping or when equipment has substantial rotational inertia. Local operation is provided through the graphical local control panel, which presents parameters, operating values, and fault messages on a backlit display without requiring a computer. Electromagnetic interference is reduced by an integrated RFI filter, which helps the installation meet applicable industrial emission requirements when grounding, shielding, and cable-routing instructions are followed. The drive supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, allowing it to be installed vertically within a compatible electrical enclosure. Proper spacing around the chassis prevents neighboring equipment and wiring ducts from restricting the cooling path.
