Product Description:
The FC-302P1K5T4Z20H3B variable-speed drive is produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It modulates the voltage and frequency of three-phase mains power so that induction or permanent-magnet motors can be accelerated, decelerated, or held at a precise setpoint without mechanical throttling in pumps, fans, and conveyor systems. By integrating process-specific parameters and fieldbus options, the controller serves as a compact drive stage in distributed industrial automation cabinets.
At 400 V, the inverter has an apparent power rating of 2.8 kVA, and its continuous output is rated at 1.5 kW, equivalent to 2.0 HP at the shaft. With a three-phase input of 380–440 V, it draws 3.7 A and can deliver an output current of 4.1 A to the motor terminals. Full-load efficiency reaches 0.97, limiting thermal losses to 62 W that must be removed by airflow through the control cabinet. A built-in brake chopper helps dissipate regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. The H3 integrated EMC filter attenuates conducted emissions to meet industrial limits, while energy efficiency class IE2 supports compliance with regional requirements. Flux-mode operation maintains field orientation up to 300 Hz. Starting torque remains at 160% for 60 seconds to overcome static friction during heavy-load starts.
The drive supports continuous operation at ambient temperatures up to 45 °C without derating and maintains rated performance at altitudes up to 1000 m. Output frequency can be expanded to 590 Hz for high-speed spindles, and shielded motor cable runs may extend to 150 m while retaining full EMC compliance. The enclosure meets IP21, protecting the electronics against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm and vertically dripping water when the drive is installed in its intended orientation.
