The FC-302P1 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It modulates three-phase mains power to supply induction or permanent-magnet motors with adjustable voltage and frequency, allowing precise speed and torque control in conveyors, pumps, and general process equipment. Integrated I/O and fieldbus options allow the drive to connect directly to PLC commands and feedback paths so that motion sequences remain synchronized with overall plant automation.
The control section offers one analog output, two digital or pulse outputs, and two relay outputs; a 24 V terminal can deliver 200 mA to external sensors that require isolated logic power. A pulse-width-modulated switching frequency selectable up to 32 kHz minimizes motor acoustic noise and current ripple. High-demand starts are handled by a torque reserve of 160% for 60 s, giving heavy loads sufficient breakaway force. The flux-vector torque rise time is 1 ms, while the VVC+ voltage-vector rise time is 10 ms, helping keep speed deviations small during rapid setpoint changes. Power drawn from the mains is used efficiently, with a true power factor of ≥0.9. The drive meets the industrial IE2 efficiency class.
Continuous operation without derating is allowed at ambient temperatures up to 45 °C, while proportional output-current reduction permits operation at up to 55 °C. The drive maintains its full rated output at elevations up to 1,000 m above sea level. It can operate at elevations up to 3000 m with proportional current reduction. Motor leads may reach 300 m when unshielded or 150 m when shielded, providing routing options for large machines while preserving electromagnetic compatibility and drive stability. These cable-length limits allow the drive to serve motors positioned remotely from the control enclosure without requiring the same wiring method for every installation.
