The Danfoss FC-302P is part of the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series and features a 12-bit analog and digital output resolution. It has a maximum ambient temperature for full current operation of 45°C and can operate without derating up to an altitude of 1000 meters. The drive supports relay outputs with a 24 V max load of 200 mA and can use shielded motor cables up to 150 meters.
Internal Product Review
The FC-302P is a Danfoss VLT FC 302 automation drive with IE2 energy efficiency and a 45 °C full-current ambient rating. Support for shielded motor cable up to 150 m and unshielded motor cable up to 300 m helps simplify installation across varied machine layouts. Torque rise times of 1 ms in flux and 10 ms in VVC+ make this drive especially appealing for responsive automation control.

Product Description:
The FC-302P is an AC variable frequency converter from Danfoss and belongs to the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It synthesizes variable-frequency, variable-voltage power from a fixed three-phase mains supply. This conversion allows controllers to adjust motor speed and torque for conveyors, pumps, and other automated equipment that require energy-efficient motion profiles.
The drive’s analog monitor channel is processed with 12-bit resolution, enabling fine current or speed feedback when the signal is routed to a PLC. A separate 10 V reference can source up to 15 mA, while the 24 V sensor supply supports field transducers that draw as much as 200 mA. Digital status lines have a 40 mA limit, so relay coils or optically isolated inputs can be driven directly. Communications and parameter backup are handled through a USB interface that follows revision 1.1. Two onboard relay outputs provide dry-contact signaling for external interlocks. Torque rise time is 1 ms in Flux mode and 10 ms with VVC+ vector control, allowing the drive to respond quickly to changing load demands. Internally, the controller aligns output commands and feedback values on a common processing scale.
The FC-302P has an efficiency class of IE2, helping reduce electrical losses during motor operation. It delivers full current at elevations up to 1000 m, and operation can continue at elevations up to 3000 m with derating. The ambient operating range extends from 0 °C to 45 °C without derating, while the electronics can be stored at temperatures as low as -25 °C. Motor leads may extend up to 150 m when shielded, providing flexibility for installations in which the motor is located away from the drive cabinet. Unshielded motor leads may extend up to 300 m, accommodating longer cable routes in large automated systems. The supported cable lengths allow the converter and motor to be positioned according to the available equipment layout while maintaining the required connection method.
