The FC-302-P4K0-T6E20HXBGXXXXSXXXXA4BXC4X10DX variable frequency drive is manufactured by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. The unit converts three-phase 551–600 V AC mains power into regulated voltage and frequency, allowing controllers to adjust induction motor speed, torque, and process throughput. By modulating the power delivered to pumps, fans, and conveyors, the drive supports energy-efficient operation and precise motion functions in automated production lines. Rated for 5 hp motors, it is suitable for small to medium loads found in HVAC and material-handling equipment.
The drive supplies a continuous output of 4.0 kW from the DC link to keep the connected motor within its intended load range. At an input of 551–600 V, it can deliver a steady phase current of 4.9 A, which helps with sizing overload protection and motor conductors. Speed regulation extends up to 590 Hz, allowing high-speed spindles to operate without additional gearing. The IP20 enclosure has finger-safe openings but does not provide protection against liquids. Regenerative energy is managed by an integrated brake chopper, eliminating the need for an external resistor switch when rapid deceleration is required.
Networked control is available through the DeviceNet MCA 104 interface, allowing start, stop, and parameter data to move between the drive and PLCs over a single bus. The braking circuit engages when the intermediate rail reaches 943 V DC, while a shutdown alarm is generated at 975 V DC to protect the IGBT modules from excessive voltage. The installation can use up to 150 m of shielded motor cable before additional sine-wave filters are required, supporting remote motors connected through overhead cable trays. Because no EMC filter is installed, panel builders typically use an external gG-10 line fuse, while a gG-25 fuse may be selected for worst-case fault clearing.
