The 176L1562 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. Installed between the electrical mains and an induction motor, it modulates output frequency and voltage so conveyors, pumps, or fans can run at the speed requested by the control system rather than at a fixed line speed. This adjustment improves process accuracy and energy efficiency in industrial automation cells that require precise motor regulation. Variable-frequency operation also allows controlled acceleration and deceleration, reducing mechanical stress on connected equipment during routine starts and stops.
The drive supplies up to 15 HP of mechanical shaft power, which corresponds to a continuous electrical rating of 11 kW. It is designed for three-phase power, allowing direct connection to typical 400–480 V plant networks without phase-conversion hardware. A factory-applied conformal layer provides a coated circuit board finish that shields sensitive traces from moisture and airborne contaminants encountered in production environments. The unit has no brake chopper, so it cannot dissipate regenerated energy through an internally controlled braking resistor. An external braking device or a mechanical brake is required when an application demands rapid deceleration or secure load control.
Adaptation B includes no application-specific adaptation, so the drive retains its base control configuration. The unit has no mains option, which leaves incoming power conditioning to external equipment selected for the installation. Cable entry uses a standard gland arrangement suited to the metric knockout plates commonly found in industrial control cabinets. The drive also has no C1 filter option, so upstream line reactors or passive filters may be needed when the installation must meet C1 emission requirements. These external components should be selected according to the supply network, cable length, motor load, and applicable electromagnetic compatibility requirements. The drive’s electrical connections should also provide appropriate grounding and cable shielding to reduce conducted and radiated interference during motor operation.
