Product Description:
The 134X3998 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. Within the VLT AutomationDrive FC product group, it carries the internal 302 identifier and serves as a speed-control element for asynchronous motors in automated lines, pump stations, and material-handling cells. By adjusting its output frequency, the drive regulates motor speed across changing process conditions. Its internal brake chopper manages regenerative energy during controlled deceleration, helping protect the DC bus from excessive voltage. This combination supports applications that require repeatable acceleration, stable operating speeds, and orderly stopping under varying mechanical loads.
The drive delivers a continuous mechanical output of 11 kW, equivalent to 15 HP, making it suitable for compatible industrial motors. Its input section accepts 200–240 VAC from a three-phase power supply, allowing direct connection to standard low-voltage plant power. The enclosure is rated IP54/Type 12 N3R, providing protection in areas exposed to nonconductive dust or dripping water. A graphical local control panel provides direct access to operating data and adjustable parameters without requiring a separate display device. The printed circuit boards are uncoated, so the drive is best suited for locations with controlled humidity and without corrosive airborne contaminants. Proper enclosure placement also helps maintain dependable ventilation around the internal power electronics during continuous operation.
Fieldbus communication is provided through the A-option card, which uses a PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 interface for cyclic setpoint and status exchange with compatible PLC systems. Backup control power is maintained by the D-option module, an integrated MCB-107 24 V DC backup supply that preserves critical memory and keeps essential control circuits active during brief power interruptions. Conducted emissions are limited by the built-in RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, reducing electrical interference transmitted through connected power lines. Power and signal conductors enter through an imperial smooth-cable gland plate, which supports organized cable routing into the enclosure. The selected communication, backup-power, and filtering components provide the interfaces needed for coordinated operation in automated equipment. Cable separation and proper grounding remain important for maintaining reliable fieldbus communication and reducing interference between power and control wiring.
