Internal Product Review

The 134G3807 is a Danfoss VLT FC 302 automation drive designed for reliable motor control on 380 - 500 VAC three-phase power. EtherNet/IP MCA 121 support and an integrated RFI filter make panel-level integration especially clean for networked industrial systems. Brake chopper capability is a strong advantage for applications with dynamic stopping demands.

Product Description:

The 134G3807 is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It converts fixed utility power into a modulated output that allows controllers to match motor speed to real-time load requirements in conveyors, pumps, and other industrial equipment. This variable-speed control can reduce unnecessary motor operation when a process does not require full output. The compact chassis serves as the central power stage for cabinet-mounted automation where precise electrical and thermal control is required.

Field integration is supported by the optional EtherNet/IP MCA 121 interface, which carries command, status, and diagnostic data over standard network cabling. The inverter draws energy from a mains range of 380 – 500 VAC. Its input section uses a three-phase power supply, so no external phase conversion is necessary. Inside the drive, a silicon power stage provides a continuous electrical output of 2.2 kW. Thermal limits accommodate frame A, B, and C cabinet mounting arrangements. The IP20 chassis guards live parts against accidental contact, while its open construction permits airflow within a suitable switchgear enclosure. Adequate cabinet ventilation is necessary to remove the heat produced during continuous operation and maintain stable inverter performance.

Energy returned by the motor during rapid deceleration is handled by a built-in brake chopper, which diverts regenerated power to an appropriately sized external resistor. Conducted radio-frequency emissions are attenuated by an onboard RFI filter, helping reduce electrical interference on the connected industrial power network. Standard cable entries provide routes for mains, motor, control, and communication wiring. A cabinet-mount bracket supports secure placement within the enclosure and helps maintain the required orientation for cooling airflow. The drive is supplied without a local control panel keypad, so local display and keypad functions require a compatible external accessory when they are needed. Its printed circuit boards do not have a special protective coating, making installation in a clean, dry cabinet important for dependable operation. External protective devices, grounding conductors, and cable shielding should be selected to suit the connected motor and power system.
