Product Description:
The 134F3870 variable frequency drive is manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series in the VLT AutomationDrive FC product group. The unit modulates three-phase mains power so automation controllers can regulate induction motor speed, torque, and energy consumption in conveyor, pump, or fan installations. Installed in a plant cabinet, it serves as the final power stage between the control system and the motor, providing adjustable output for process control, soft starting, and controlled deceleration in industrial production lines.
The rated motor power is 0.37 kW, which corresponds to 0.50 HP and makes the drive suitable for small auxiliary axes and ventilation equipment. It accepts an input voltage of 380–500 VAC from a three-phase power network, allowing direct connection to common industrial feeders without a step-down transformer. The enclosure has an IP21 / Type 1 protection rating, which limits dust ingress and helps prevent accidental contact with live conductors when the drive is installed in a protected indoor area. Standard cable entries guide the mains, motor, and control wiring into the housing for an orderly connection layout. The drive has no brake chopper, so external dynamic braking equipment is required when an application demands rapid or frequent deceleration. Its printed circuit boards are uncoated, making installation in areas with condensing humidity or airborne chemicals unsuitable unless additional environmental protection is provided.
Option slot A contains an EtherNet/IP MCA 121 interface, which provides cyclic input and output communication as well as explicit messaging for compatible PLC networks. The front door includes a Graphical Local Control Panel that allows direct access to operating data, status information, and adjustable parameters without requiring an external control device. Its standard language pack presents menus and messages in multiple supported languages for local operation. An embedded RFI filter attenuates high-frequency electrical noise conducted through the motor leads and mains supply. Slots B, C0, C1, and D are empty, so no additional communication, feedback, or application option modules are installed in those positions. The drive does not include a factory mains option, requiring the surrounding panel to provide suitable upstream circuit protection and electrical isolation for the installation.
