Product Description:
The 134F3403 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It regulates the speed and torque of three-phase induction motors in automated material-handling lines, pump skids, and general process equipment, allowing closed-loop control without mechanical throttles. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a pulse-width-modulated output, it supports energy-efficient operation wherever dynamic speed adjustment is required.
The rated output power is 18.5 kW, enabling the inverter to provide continuous mechanical power to a matched motor. The input section accepts 380–500 VAC across all three lines, so it connects directly to common industrial feeders without step-down transformers. Because the unit uses three-phase power, its rectifier and DC link balance phase currents and help limit harmonics. An IP54, Type 12, and NEMA 3R enclosure shields the electronics from dust and splashing water, supporting installation outside a sealed cabinet. The language pack is set to Standard, and the printed circuit boards are uncoated, so ambient humidity must remain within the drive’s stated operating limits. Proper installation clearances allow heat to leave the enclosure while maintaining access to power and control terminals.
Fieldbus communication is provided by the PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 A-option card, enabling cyclic commands and diagnostic data exchange with PLC controllers. Local interaction is handled through a graphical local control panel that displays parameter lists, operating values, alarms, and fault history at the drive face. Conducted emissions are reduced by the integrated RFI filter, which helps prevent electrical noise from traveling back through the supply network. Wiring passes through imperial smooth cable entry plates that accept North American gland hardware and support orderly routing into the enclosure. The installed interface arrangement provides remote network control and direct local access without requiring separate display equipment. These control paths allow operating values to be viewed locally while commands and diagnostic information are exchanged with the automation system.
