The 131X6840 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss and supplied within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. As a member of the VLT AutomationDrive FC product group, it is intended to regulate the speed of three-phase induction motors used in conveyors, mixers, and process lines. By converting fixed mains voltage into a variable voltage-frequency output, the unit improves energy efficiency, provides soft-start capability, and allows precise process matching in automated production cells.

It delivers a continuous mechanical output of 30 HP, which corresponds to an electrical power rating of 22 kW, so mid-sized machinery can be driven without derating. The input section is designed for three-phase power, which supports balanced current draw and reduces harmonic distortion on plant feeders. An IP20 chassis rating means all live parts must be installed inside a protected cabinet, while airflow remains unobstructed for heat dissipation. Daily interaction is handled through the graphical local control panel, which offers menu navigation, parameter editing, and real-time fault codes. Rapid deceleration events are managed by the integrated brake chopper, allowing surplus kinetic energy to be routed to an external resistor instead of the DC link capacitors. Reliability in humid or dusty workshops is improved because the internal circuit boards are coated against moisture and particulate buildup. For motion tasks that require absolute position feedback, the optional MCB-103 Resolver Option converts resolver signals into velocity and angle data that the controller can process directly.
