Danfoss supplies the 131X0817 as part of the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. This unit is an AC variable-frequency drive intended to modulate the speed of induction motors in automated machinery, conveyors, and process equipment. By adjusting output frequency to match real-time demand, it helps reduce energy use and maintain accurate torque during startup and normal running.

The drive accepts a three-phase input of 200 – 240 VAC and delivers a continuous mechanical output of 0.37 kW, equivalent to 0.50 HP. It uses three-phase power, so the inverter can be wired directly to common low-voltage distribution systems without an autotransformer. A factory-installed graphical local control panel presents parameter menus, fault logs, and manual speed commands, allowing local setup and monitoring without external tools. Normal cabinet mounting across frame sizes A, B, and C keeps the heatsink inside the enclosure, and standard cable entries simplify routing of shielded motor leads. Internal control electronics are left uncoated, so installation should avoid atmospheres that contain corrosive gases or conductive dust. Language support uses the standard multilingual pack.

Environmental and safety provisions include an enclosure rating of IP20 / Chassis, which prevents accidental contact with live parts when the drive is installed in a closed panel. An integrated RFI filter attenuates conducted electromagnetic emissions so the assembly can be used on industrial networks without additional line filters. Motor braking energy is dissipated through a built-in brake chopper, eliminating the need for external dynamic-braking hardware on small inertia loads. For feedback applications, the B-option slot is populated with an MCB-103 Resolver Option that supplies absolute rotor position data to the control board, improving speed regulation during low-frequency operation.
