Product Description:
The 131U8231 is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It is intended for use in production lines, conveyors, and pump systems where adjustable motor speed and torque are needed for steady operation. By varying the output frequency supplied to an induction motor, the drive supports precise process control and can reduce unnecessary full-speed running when the load is lighter. This operating method also helps smooth starts and speed changes in automated equipment.
This model delivers 15 HP of mechanical output, and its electrical power rating is 11 kW, which supports proper breaker and cable sizing. It accepts 380–500 VAC on a three-phase power network, covering the common low-voltage supply range used in many industrial facilities. The enclosure has an IP20 / chassis construction, so the drive must be installed inside a cabinet where the surrounding enclosure provides additional protection. Standard cable entries support orderly wiring, and the design does not include a brake chopper, so deceleration energy must be handled by an external resistor or by the driven machine.
Several factory configuration fields remain unassigned, including the A option, Adaptation B, the D option, and the mains option, which keeps the unit suitable for general-purpose setups. The drive includes an RFI filter to reduce conducted emissions, and its printed circuit boards are coated to improve resistance to moisture and airborne contamination inside the cabinet. Feedback capability can be expanded through the factory-installed MCB-103 resolver option, which supports resolver-based motor feedback. Local operation is omitted because no LCP is installed. Language and cable packs remain standard, and the unit uses normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames to secure the chassis in a conventional enclosure layout.
