Product Description:
The 131U5388 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency AC power into a regulated output that lets plant controllers adjust induction motor speed for conveyors, pumps, and other continuous-duty equipment in industrial automation. The drive is intended for cabinet installation and supports integrated digital networking.
Under nominal load, the inverter is rated for a motor output of 0.37 kW and an apparent input power of 0.9 kVA. Internal switching and control electronics dissipate 35 W of heat during operation. The power section uses a three-phase input. No additional mains option is installed. Conducted emissions are limited by the built-in C2/C1 EMC filter, so external line reactors are usually unnecessary. Communication with higher-level PLCs is handled through the PROFINET MCA 120 fieldbus card, providing cyclic setpoint exchange and diagnostic data. The printed circuit boards have a 3C2 protective coating that supports operation in atmospheres containing moderate levels of airborne contaminants.
The drive uses Frame Size A2, resulting in a width of 90 mm, a base depth of 205 mm, and a height of 268 mm. The required clearance increases to 220 mm if an option A or option B module is added. Its installation weight is 4.45 kg, simplifying panel assembly and handling. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so it requires installation in a grounded control cabinet with suitable finger-safe barriers. Because the drive does not include a brake chopper, regenerative energy must be managed by external components. Any harmonic mitigation beyond the built-in EMC filter also requires external equipment. Adequate side and rear spacing maintains airflow across the heat sink and helps prevent thermal derating.
