Product Description:
The 131U4005 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. The unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output that allows automation controllers to adjust induction motor speed and torque. Through its connection to industrial control networks, the drive can regulate pumps, fans, conveyors, and other motor-driven equipment without mechanical throttling. This electronic control supports accurate process adjustments and coordinated operating cycles while reducing unnecessary motor energy use under partial loads.
The drive is rated for 10 HP, which corresponds to 7.5 kW of continuous mechanical power at the motor shaft. It accepts an input voltage range of 380–500 VAC from a three-phase power supply, making it suitable for connection to common 400 V industrial distribution systems. Communication is handled by a PROFINET MCA 120 A-option card, which supports real-time data exchange with compatible programmable logic controllers. Standard cable entries provide practical routing for power, motor, and control wiring during cabinet installation. The drive does not include an upstream mains disconnect, so supply isolation must be provided separately when required by the installation. Its standard language pack supports navigation through the available operating menus and parameter screens.
The chassis has an IP20 protection rating and is intended for installation inside a clean, ventilated control cabinet. An integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter helps limit conducted electromagnetic emissions on the power supply. Local operation is available through a graphical local control panel that displays parameters, operating values, warnings, and fault codes without requiring an external interface. The unit uses the normal cabinet-mount arrangement for A, B, and C frames, allowing it to fit the corresponding Danfoss mounting layouts. Its printed circuit boards are uncoated, so the cabinet must protect the drive from condensation, excessive humidity, conductive dust, and corrosive airborne contaminants. Ventilation clearance should be maintained around the chassis to support heat dissipation and prevent elevated internal temperatures during continuous operation.
