Product Description:
The 131U1580 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series within the VLT AutomationDrive FC group. Supplied as a chassis unit for cabinet installation, it accepts mains power and delivers a modulated output so connected motors can match process demands more closely. In automated production lines, the drive regulates torque, reduces energy use, and supports PLC-based control through configurable fieldbus accessories. Its cabinet-mounted format is intended for enclosed industrial panels where airflow and wiring access can be managed in a controlled layout.
Electrically, the drive is rated for a mains range of 380 to 500 VAC and is designed for three-phase power input typical of plant distribution systems. Internally, it is rated at 22 kW, which corresponds to 30 HP for motor applications in the same output class. The enclosure has an IP20 chassis designation, so the unit is intended for installation inside a protective cabinet where accidental contact and airborne contamination are limited. Thermal management is handled by integral heat sinks that direct cooling air upward through the frame, helping the drive maintain stable operation in panel-mounted use.
Operators program parameters through a graphical local control panel, which uses a removable keypad with plain-text menus for setup and monitoring. For regenerative loads, the integrated brake chopper directs excess energy to an external resistor to help prevent DC-link overvoltage during deceleration. Conducted emissions are reduced by the built-in RFI filter, and position feedback can be added through the optional MCB-103 resolver option. The drive is supplied with a standard language pack and standard cable entries. Auxiliary slots A, B adaptation, C, C0, C1, D, and the mains position are left empty, while the PCBs remain uncoated.
