The 131H4766 is a cabinet-mounted AC variable frequency drive built by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It forms the interface between a three-phase supply network and an induction motor, delivering regulated voltage and frequency to manage speed, startup current, and braking sequences. Integrating the drive into production equipment allows programmable acceleration profiles, reduces mechanical stress, and lowers energy consumption in ventilation, pumping, and material-handling applications. Its cabinet-mounted design places the power electronics and control connections within a protected electrical enclosure.
The drive has a rated output power of 18.5 kW, providing continuous electrical capacity for midsize motors used on process lines. Its corresponding mechanical output is 25 HP, which expresses the available motor power in horsepower. The input terminals accept 380–500 VAC, allowing operation on common 400 V industrial networks without a transformer. The input requires three-phase power, so the upstream supply must provide the appropriate phase arrangement. An IP20 chassis enclosure protects against accidental finger contact with live parts, but the drive still requires installation in a closed cabinet for protection from dust and splashing liquids. This enclosure format also permits cabinet airflow to remove heat from the drive during continuous operation.
An integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter attenuates conducted electromagnetic emissions and reduces the need for external suppression components. A front-mounted graphical local control panel provides access to parameters, operating data, status information, and manual jog functions when network supervision is unavailable. Option slot B contains an MCB 112 PTC thermistor card, which receives temperature feedback from PTC sensors embedded in the motor. This feedback allows the drive to initiate a thermal trip based on measured winding temperature rather than relying only on a calculated thermal model. The drive has uncoated control boards, so the surrounding cabinet should maintain low humidity and limit exposure to airborne contaminants. Proper cabinet ventilation helps protect the electronics while supporting stable operation under load.
