Product Description:
The 131H2852 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. The unit modulates the speed of three-phase induction motors so that pumps, conveyors, and other machines can match process demand without mechanical throttling. In plant automation, the drive receives speed references from PLCs and adjusts its output frequency accordingly, reducing energy consumption and enabling tighter motion control.
Input power is specified at 380–500 VAC, and the converter is designed for three-phase power, allowing direct connection to standard industrial mains without phase conversion. Its motor output is rated at 11 kW, which is equivalent to 15 HP and is suitable for midsize pumps or fan drives. The chassis has an IP20 protection rating, so it must be installed inside a switchgear cabinet that prevents unintended contact and exposure to contaminants. Standard cabinet-mount brackets for A, B, and C frames position the heat sink against ventilation channels, while standard cable entries simplify gland plate preparation. A graphical Local Control Panel provides direct access to operating parameters and drive settings. Its language pack uses standard English for clear navigation through the available menus.
Electromagnetic compliance is supported by the integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, which limits conducted electrical noise on the supply bus. Fieldbus connectivity is provided through a PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 interface that allows supervisory controllers to exchange setpoints and status data at high speed. Motor thermal protection is supported by the MCB-112 PTC card, which monitors compatible temperature sensors and helps protect the connected motor from overheating. Ride-through during brief mains interruptions is supported by the MCB-107 24 V DC backup module, which maintains the control electronics when the primary supply is disrupted. During controlled stopping events, the drive routes excess regenerative energy through its internal brake chopper. The electronics use uncoated printed circuit boards, making installation in a suitable protective cabinet important where moisture, dust, or corrosive airborne contaminants may be present.
