Product Description:
The 131G9380 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It accepts three-phase utility power and synthesizes a variable-frequency, variable-voltage output so industrial controllers can regulate motor speed without relying on mechanical throttling. In automated material-handling, HVAC, and pumping systems, this drive serves as the interface between programmable logic controllers and the induction motors that move products, circulate fluids, or deliver airflow. Its compact frame is intended for cabinets where panel space is limited.
The electrical section is rated at 3.0 HP, which corresponds to 2.2 kW of motor output. It accepts an input of 380 – 500 VAC and operates with three-phase power, allowing direct connection to typical plant feeders. The unit has an IP20 chassis that protects against accidental contact with internal electrical components while permitting installation inside a suitable control cabinet. Its integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter limits conducted electrical noise that could otherwise interfere with nearby equipment. An internal brake chopper manages regenerated energy produced when the connected motor decelerates. The drive supports standard cabinet mounting for frame sizes A through C and uses standard cable entries. Its circuit boards are uncoated, so the installation environment should protect the electronics from excessive moisture, conductive dust, and corrosive contaminants.
Option slots provide communication, relay, and positioning functions for automated machinery. Slot A contains a PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 module that supports cyclic fieldbus communication between the drive and a compatible controller. This connection allows operating commands, reference values, status information, and diagnostic data to travel over the industrial network. Slot B contains an MCB-105 Relay Card, which adds form-C relay contacts for alarms, interlocks, or external control functions. The C0 slot contains an MCO-305 (SyncPos) module that supports electronic camming and position synchronization for coordinated motion. Operating parameters and status information are accessed through the numerical local control panel, which provides a direct interface for drive setup and routine monitoring.
