Product Description:

The 131G6170 is an AC variable-frequency drive from Danfoss that belongs to the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. Within an industrial automation cell, the unit converts fixed mains power into a regulated output that allows controllers to adjust induction-motor speed and torque with closed-loop precision. This electronic control eliminates the need for mechanical throttling on conveyors, pumps, and material-handling systems while supporting controlled acceleration, deceleration, and process speed changes.

An integrated EtherNet/IP MCA 121 option card provides real-time fieldbus connectivity, allowing remote PLCs to write setpoints and read status registers without serial gateways. The input section accepts three-phase mains between 380–500 VAC. The inverter section delivers a continuous electrical output of 5.5 kW, which is equivalent to 7.5 HP at the motor shaft. Operation with three-phase power provides balanced line loading and minimizes neutral currents. The IP20 chassis enclosure provides protection against accidental contact with internal components but requires installation inside a suitable cabinet. The drive has no dynamic braking circuit, so external equipment must manage excess regenerative energy returned by the motor during deceleration.

Electromagnetic compliance is supported by the built-in RFI filter, which attenuates conducted emissions and helps protect sensitive instrumentation connected to the same electrical system. Local setup is performed through the graphical local control panel. Its keypad displays process variables and allows parameter changes without requiring external tools. The housing supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, allowing installation on standard cabinet backplates. Power leads pass through the provided standard cable entries, which support orderly routing within the enclosure. The printed circuit boards are not conformally coated, so the drive should be installed in a clean, dry cabinet that limits exposure to moisture, dust, and corrosive contaminants. Optional slots B, C0, C1, and D remain unoccupied and are available for compatible expansion modules when additional control or communication functions are required.
