Product Description:
The 131F8887 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. Within an industrial control panel, it rectifies the incoming utility power and produces a pulse-width-modulated output that allows a PLC to regulate the speed of a standard induction motor. By adjusting output frequency rather than relying on mechanical throttling, the drive supports precise flow control and material-handling operations while reducing energy consumption. Its control architecture also allows motor speed to respond to changing process demands without requiring mechanical speed-adjustment devices.
The drive accepts three-phase power over a supply range of 380–500 VAC, allowing direct connection to common industrial feeders without a transformer. The inverter delivers 15 kW of continuous motor power, which corresponds to 20 HP. Its IP20 chassis protection helps prevent finger contact with live parts, but the unit still requires installation inside a suitable ventilated enclosure. The housing supports standard cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, and its cable entries accept metric glands. The circuit boards do not have a protective coating, so the drive should be installed in a dry cabinet with filtered air to reduce the accumulation of conductive dust on its electronics.
The unit includes a PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 interface for cyclic control, status exchange, and diagnostic communication with compatible automation systems. No adaptation module or B, C0, C1, or D option module is installed. The drive also lacks a brake chopper and dedicated mains option, so separate braking equipment and input switching components must be provided when the application requires them. Motor commands and operating data can be accessed through the Graphical Local Control Panel, while the standard language pack provides multilingual menu support. Conducted electromagnetic emissions are reduced by an integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter. The product carries series code 302, which supports the applicable parameter structure within the VLT AutomationDrive FC product group.
