Product Description:
The 131B8644 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss as part of the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. Designed for panel mounting, the unit converts fixed-frequency plant power into a variable-frequency output that regulates the speed and torque of compatible induction motors. This operating capability supports automated conveyors, fans, pumps, and other machinery that requires controlled acceleration or process-dependent speed adjustment. The drive uses the mechanical format and control architecture associated with the FC 302 family, allowing it to integrate with compatible Danfoss drive systems and established panel layouts.
Rated output power reaches 55 kW, which corresponds to 75 HP of continuous mechanical power at the connected motor. The input bridge accepts 380 to 500 VAC and includes soft-charge circuitry that limits inrush current while the internal DC bus capacitors charge during startup. The lack of an integrated brake chopper means that regenerative energy produced during rapid deceleration must be managed through an appropriate external braking solution. The enclosure has an IP21 / Type 1 rating, providing protection against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm and vertically falling water drops. The drive does not include an integrated mains disconnect, so upstream equipment must provide suitable isolation and short-circuit protection. Its three-phase power architecture supports industrial motor applications that require balanced power delivery and stable operation under changing mechanical loads.
Fieldbus communication is provided by the factory-installed PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 module, which allows the drive to exchange commands, operating data, and diagnostic information with a compatible automation controller. Local setup and monitoring are handled through a graphical local control panel, where the standard language package presents operating messages and parameter information. Conducted electromagnetic emissions are reduced by an integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, supporting installation where compatible emission control is required. Standard cable entries simplify preparation of the gland plate and routing of power, motor, and control wiring inside the enclosure. The circuit boards are uncoated, so the drive should be protected from condensing humidity, corrosive gases, and airborne contamination that could affect exposed electronic components. Optional expansion positions remain unused in this configuration, leaving the installed control and communication functions unchanged.
