Danfoss manufactures the 131B5238 AC drive for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. As a variable frequency converter, it regulates motor speed and torque in automated process lines so the motor can follow changing process demands in conveyors, pumps, mixers, and other industrial equipment. That control helps reduce mechanical stress during starts and speed changes, supports smoother acceleration and deceleration, and keeps operation aligned with the commanded process rate. An integral RFI filter reduces conducted emissions to neighboring instrumentation and helps surrounding control hardware avoid interference-related disturbances.

In typical installations, the drive delivers a continuous power rating of 7.5 kW, equal to 10 HP when connected to a supply grid between 380–500 VAC. The unit accepts three-phase power, so the rectifier is sized for balanced industrial feeders and the DC link remains stable during dynamic load steps or routine speed changes. The enclosure has an IP20 / Chassis protection rating, so the drive must be installed inside a suitable cabinet where the electronics are shielded from direct contact. Standard cable entries simplify wiring, and the cabinet-mount arrangement for A, B, and C frames directs airflow along the heat-sink fins to support consistent cooling.

The factory-installed MCB-103 Resolver Option gives the controller direct resolver feedback without external interface cards, which helps when the application depends on rotor position data. Dynamic stopping energy is absorbed by the integrated brake chopper, which protects the DC link during deceleration and helps manage regenerative energy from the motor. Local interaction is handled through the Graphical Local Control Panel, which provides menu-driven access in a standard language pack for operating data and parameter changes. The boards are coated to help protect traces from condensation and support more reliable performance in humid cabinet conditions.
