The 131B3231 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency industrial power into a pulse-width-modulated output that allows controllers to match motor speed to process demand in conveyors, pumps, and fans. By providing electronic speed control rather than mechanical throttling, the unit improves energy efficiency and process accuracy.
This model supplies up to 15 HP of mechanical shaft power from an electrical rating of 11 kW. It accepts line voltages between 380 and 500 VAC with three-phase power, covering common IEC and ANSI supply grids. The enclosure carries an IP21 / Type 1 rating, providing protection against accidental contact and vertically falling water droplets in indoor installations. Standard cable entries accommodate metric or PG glands, allowing compatible fittings to secure incoming power, motor, and control wiring. The drive does not include a dedicated mains disconnect, so external isolation hardware is required when local disconnection is necessary. It also has no integrated brake chopper, which means regenerative energy must be managed by controlled deceleration or suitable external braking equipment.
Conducted emissions are reduced by the integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, making an additional line filter unnecessary in many installations. Control-stage ride-through is provided by the D-slot MCB-107 24 V DC backup module, which maintains logic power during short supply interruptions. The A-slot contains a PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 interface for exchanging control commands, operating data, and diagnostic information with compatible automation systems. The standard language pack is included, but the drive is supplied without a local control panel keypad. Its printed circuit board does not have a protective coating, so the unit is best suited to clean indoor environments without excessive moisture or corrosive airborne contaminants.
