The 131B3177 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It regulates the speed of three-phase induction motors, allowing motor torque and speed to follow the operating demands of conveyors, pumps, fans, and other industrial equipment. The adjustable output can improve process control when an application does not require the connected motor to run continuously at full speed. Its B1 frame provides a compact footprint for installation in control panels, while standard metric knockouts accommodate the required power and control cables.
The unit connects to plant power through a supply range of 3 x 380–500 VAC. During heavy-duty operation, it can deliver an output line current of 32 A and support a continuous mechanical load of 15 kW. The enclosure has a protection rating of IP21 / Type 1, which prevents accidental contact with live components and limits the entry of vertically falling water droplets. These protections make the enclosure suitable for clean indoor areas where additional resistance to dust or directed water is unnecessary. Communication with higher-level controllers is provided by the integrated PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 interface, enabling remote parameter access, operational monitoring, and real-time setpoint updates. The drive does not include a factory-installed mains disconnect, so appropriate upstream isolation and protective equipment must be provided separately.
For normal-overload operation, the drive supplies 37.5 A and supports motor applications up to 18.5 kW. Heat loss during this service reaches 379 W, and panel ventilation must remove the generated heat to maintain an acceptable internal temperature. Under the stated alternate duty condition, power dissipation can reach 465 W, requiring additional airflow capacity within the enclosure. Conducted electrical emissions are reduced by the built-in A1/B (C1) RFI filter, which supports operation in residential and light-industrial electrical environments. The control circuit board has a Class 3C2 conformal coating that provides resistance to moderate humidity and airborne sulfides.
