Product Description:
The 131B1979 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. The unit modulates three-phase mains power to regulate the speed of induction motors used in material-handling systems, pumping applications, and general process equipment. By adjusting motor frequency and voltage, the drive supports precise speed regulation as operating demands change. This control method can also reduce unnecessary energy consumption when a connected motor operates below its maximum speed.
The drive has a continuous output rating of 3.0 kW, equivalent to 4.0 HP, allowing it to operate medium-sized pumps or conveyors. It accepts an input voltage of 380–500 VAC from a three-phase power network, making it suitable for typical 400 V industrial installations. The enclosure has a protection rating of IP54/Type 12 N3R, guarding the internal electronics against dust, dripping water, and incidental contact. Standard cable entries simplify cable routing and gland-plate preparation during installation. The drive does not include a brake chopper, making it appropriate for applications that do not require rapid dynamic braking. No dedicated mains option module is installed, so the incoming supply connects through the standard input terminals.
An integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter attenuates conducted electrical noise on the supply without requiring separate filtering components. Local parameter access is provided through a graphical local control panel, which presents operating information and configuration menus in a readable format. Remote language selection uses the Standard language pack for supported menu text. The unit has an uncoated control board, making it best suited to operating areas that do not expose the electronics to corrosive moisture, chemical vapor, or heavy airborne contamination. Its platform identifier is 302, associating the drive with the mechanical format and control functions of the FC 302 product line.
