Product Description:
The 131B1592 is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss as part of the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. Within an automation line, the drive converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated output that allows controllers to vary motor speed and torque. This control can improve energy use and process accuracy in pumps, fans, conveyors, and other motor-driven equipment. Adjustable output frequency also allows machinery to accelerate and decelerate smoothly rather than relying on abrupt across-the-line starting.
The inverter delivers a continuous mechanical output of 11 kW, which corresponds to 15 HP in applications that use imperial power ratings. It connects directly to utility supplies ranging from 380 – 500 VAC and operates with three-phase power, so external phase conversion is not required. Its IP21 / Type 1 enclosure limits access to internal components and provides protection suitable for installation in clean indoor areas. The enclosure directs heat upward, so adequate clearance should be maintained around the ventilation path. A standard cable-entry plate allows appropriately rated glands or conduits to be installed without drilling the enclosure. This arrangement helps organize incoming mains conductors, outgoing motor cables, and control wiring while preserving the intended enclosure protection.
An integral RFI filter attenuates conducted electrical emissions, helping the drive operate near sensitive instrumentation and control equipment. Local interaction is provided by the Graphical Local Control Panel, which displays operating parameters, status information, and fault codes through a clear visual interface. An integrated brake chopper directs regenerated energy to an external braking resistor during rapid deceleration, preventing excessive voltage from accumulating on the DC bus. The circuit boards have an uncoated finish, making the drive appropriate for clean electrical rooms where moisture, corrosive vapors, and heavy airborne contamination are controlled. Proper enclosure ventilation and separation of power and signal wiring can help maintain thermal performance and reduce electrical interference during operation.
