Product Description:
The 131B1528 is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency AC line power into a regulated output that allows plant controllers to vary induction motor speed and torque for conveyors, pumps, and other automated equipment. When integrated into a control cabinet, the drive provides dynamic braking, soft starting, and process-optimized acceleration profiles. These functions allow connected motors to start smoothly and respond to changing process demands without direct connection to fixed-frequency power.
The drive accepts a 3 x 380-500 VAC three-phase supply, eliminating the need for a step-down transformer in compatible installations. At nominal load, it provides 22 kW and 40 A. The high-overload profile is rated at 18.5 kW and 34 A, leaving current headroom for brief torque demands. An integrated brake chopper handles energy returned by the motor during deceleration. The housing carries an IP21 / Type 1 rating and conforms to A1/B (C1) emission limits, supporting installation in light-industrial areas. Frame size B2 establishes the mounting arrangement, and all parameters are adjusted through a graphical local control panel on the front of the unit. The printed circuit boards are uncoated, so the drive should be installed in a dry environment where condensation and moisture cannot reach the internal electronics.
The rectangular casing stands 664 mm high, spans 243 mm in width, and projects 261 mm in depth, allowing placement in narrow control columns. Its shipping mass of 28.64 kg requires suitable lifting and support equipment during cabinet installation. Internal fans and heat-sink fins remove up to 525 W of heat loss, so cabinet airflow must maintain an acceptable inlet temperature. Side ventilation channels establish the required clearance around the enclosure and help prevent recirculation of heated exhaust air. A drip shield deflects vertically falling moisture away from internal components. The narrow width also preserves adjacent cabinet space for PLC racks, contactors, protective devices, and cable-routing channels.
