Product Description:
The 131B0788 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It converts a fixed-frequency three-phase supply into a pulse-width-modulated output that allows plant controllers to vary induction motor speed in real time. Installing the drive between the mains supply and a motor can reduce energy consumption, match torque to process demand, and eliminate the need for mechanical throttling devices. The unit is intended for integration into industrial cabinets where space, serviceability, and standardized wiring practices are important. Its control architecture supports applications that require precise motor regulation across changing speeds and loads.
The drive delivers a continuous electrical output of 2.2 kW, indicating the maximum power it can provide to the motor terminals without derating. Its corresponding mechanical output is rated at 3.0 HP, which supports equipment documented with imperial units. The input section accepts line voltages from 380–500 VAC, allowing operation on the 400 V class networks commonly used in industrial plants. The product uses three-phase power, so the supply connection requires three line conductors and a protective ground. This arrangement reduces DC-link ripple and supports efficient motor operation. An IP20 chassis enclosure provides basic protection against accidental finger contact when the drive is installed inside a control cabinet. The surrounding cabinet must provide any additional protection required against dust, moisture, or contact with energized components.
The D-slot contains an MCB-107 24 V DC backup module, allowing the control logic to remain active during short interruptions of the mains supply. Local setup is performed through the Graphical Local Control Panel, which provides menu-based parameter entry and trend displays without requiring external software. Conducted emissions are suppressed by the built-in RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, helping the installation satisfy applicable residential and light-industrial electromagnetic compatibility limits. Mechanical integration uses normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, providing compatibility with the appropriate cabinet layouts. Standard cable entries support conventional routing for supply, motor, and control conductors. The printed circuit boards are not coated, so the cabinet should protect the internal electronics from excessive moisture and airborne contaminants.
