Product Description:
The 131B0656 is a variable frequency drive built by Danfoss within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. The module converts fixed-frequency mains power into a pulse-width-modulated output that allows controllers to adjust the speed and torque of three-phase induction motors. It can control motors used in conveyors, pumps, material-handling systems, and general factory equipment. By combining power electronics with configurable control parameters, the drive provides a compact interface between a PLC and the motor. Its regulated output allows equipment to match motor operation to process demand without relying on mechanical throttling or other inefficient control methods.
The drive has a continuous motor output rating of 0.75 kW, which corresponds to a mechanical shaft capability of 1.0 HP. It accepts a three-phase power input and connects directly to standard industrial supplies in the 380–480 V range without phase conversion. Cable routing is supported by standard gland plates that accommodate common metric or NPT fittings used on enclosure walls. The drive has no integrated C1 filter, so an external category C1 filter is required when the installation must meet that electromagnetic compatibility category. These electrical and connection features support installation in industrial control cabinets with suitable supply protection, grounding, and ventilation.
The unit is supplied without a local control panel, so local parameter access requires a compatible detachable keypad or remote software connection. The drive also includes no optional mains hardware, requiring external fuses, disconnects, or other incoming protection appropriate for the installation and applicable regional codes. Its uncoated control boards do not have conformal varnish for added resistance to moisture and airborne contaminants. The enclosure should therefore be installed in a clean, condensation-free location that protects the electronics from conductive dust, chemical vapor, and excessive humidity. Remote access can be used to adjust operating parameters, monitor drive status, and review diagnostic information when a local keypad is not installed. Proper cabinet placement should also provide adequate clearance around the drive so normal cooling airflow is not obstructed by nearby wiring ducts or equipment.
