The 131B0589 variable-frequency drive is produced by Danfoss and is part of the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It is designed for cabinet installation and regulates the speed of AC induction motors according to process demand. This control can improve energy efficiency in manufacturing machinery, ventilation systems, pumps, and other automated equipment. Adjustable motor speed also supports controlled acceleration, stable operation, and smoother process movement.
The drive connects to a three-phase mains supply of 380–500 VAC, allowing direct connection to common industrial power networks within that range. Its continuous output is rated at 2.2 kW, which is equivalent to 3.0 HP of motor power under steady operating conditions. The use of three-phase power provides balanced current distribution across the incoming supply conductors. An IP20 chassis protects against accidental finger contact with hazardous internal components, but the drive requires an enclosure for protection from dust and water. The integrated electromagnetic interference filter meets RFI Class A1/B (C1) limits, helping reduce conducted electrical noise returned to the mains. Standard cable entries simplify routing through the cabinet gland plate, and the normal cabinet mounting arrangement accommodates the smaller A, B, and C frame styles in the series.
