Product Description:
The 131B0521 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. The unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a modulated output, allowing machine controllers to regulate induction motor speed and torque without mechanical throttling. It is designed for cabinet installation in industrial automation systems and can provide closed-loop control for pumps, fans, conveyors, and other motor-driven equipment. Its regulated output supports applications that require consistent motor performance as operating demands change.
The drive has a continuous power rating of 2.2 kW, indicating the power it can deliver to a connected motor under steady operating conditions. This rating corresponds to a shaft output of 3.0 HP. The input section accepts a supply range of 380–500 VAC, allowing connection to common industrial distribution networks within that voltage range. The drive accepts three-phase power, which helps maintain a balanced DC link and reduce ripple during load changes. Its IP20 chassis enclosure protects against accidental contact with internal components but does not provide protection from water. The unit must therefore be installed inside a suitable protective cabinet with adequate airflow. The drive does not include a brake chopper, so applications with significant regenerative energy may require external braking equipment. It is also supplied without an LCP keypad or adaptation modules.
Network communication is provided through a factory-installed PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 interface, which supports cyclic control data and diagnostic communication with compatible PLC systems. Power and control conductors enter through standard gland plates, supporting organized cable routing within the cabinet. Conducted electrical noise is reduced by an integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter on the mains input. The mechanical arrangement uses normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, with fastening points and airflow clearances suited to the applicable frame design. The drive has uncoated printed circuit boards, so the installation should limit exposure to moisture, condensation, and corrosive airborne contaminants. The B, C0, C1, and D option positions are not populated, leaving the base configuration without additional modules in those locations.
