Product Description:
The 131B0457 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. As a member of the VLT AutomationDrive FC product group, the unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a controlled output that allows control systems to adjust induction motor speed according to process demand. Installing the drive inside a cabinet provides electronic speed regulation without mechanical throttling, which can improve efficiency in conveyors, pumps, and other continuous-duty automation systems. Its control architecture supports applications that require accurate motor operation, consistent process control, and communication with a higher-level automation network.
Its continuous output is rated at 5.5 kW, which corresponds to 7.5 HP and makes the drive suitable for medium-frame induction motors. The input section accepts 380–500 VAC from three-phase power, providing compatibility with common industrial supply networks. An A-slot PROFIBUS DP V1 MCA 101 card connects the inverter directly to compatible PLC networks for command, status, and diagnostic data exchange. The drive does not include a brake chopper, so rapid deceleration may require an appropriate external braking arrangement. Standard cable entries provide practical routing for power and control conductors inside the enclosure. The printed circuit board is uncoated, so the installation environment should limit exposure to moisture, conductive dust, and corrosive airborne contaminants. Frames A, B, and C support normal cabinet mounting with adequate clearance for ventilation and wiring access.
The chassis has an IP20 enclosure rating, so the drive must be installed inside a closed panel that prevents accidental contact while allowing sufficient ventilation. Conducted electrical noise is reduced by a built-in RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, which helps limit interference on the connected supply network. Local setup and monitoring are performed through the Graphical Local Control Panel, which presents readable text menus, operating values, and trend information. The panel gives direct access to motor settings, operating commands, alarm records, and drive status without requiring a separate display device. PROFIBUS communication allows operating commands and process data to be exchanged with the automation controller while the local panel remains available for on-site observation and parameter access.
