Product Description:
The 131B0424 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It operates as an electronic governor between the incoming electrical supply and an induction motor, adjusting output frequency and voltage to regulate shaft speed. This control supports gradual acceleration and deceleration, helping reduce mechanical stress on conveyors, pumps, and material-handling equipment. Matching motor operation to process demand can also reduce unnecessary energy consumption in automated production systems.
A three-phase power supply feeds the intermediate DC bus, and the inverter delivers up to 4.0 kW of adjustable power to the connected motor. The IP21 / Type 1 enclosure is intended for indoor installation and provides protection against finger contact and limited exposure to dripping water. Operators interact with the drive through a graphical local control panel, which presents operating status, active faults, parameter information, and current process values. Standard cable entries support power, motor, and control wiring without requiring a specialized connection system. Heat is removed through convection, so the surrounding control cabinet must provide adequate airflow and sufficient clearance around the drive.
The lack of a brake chopper means applications that require rapid stopping or frequent deceleration must use an appropriate external braking arrangement. Line-side disconnects and protective fuses must also be provided externally according to the electrical installation requirements of the machine. The drive uses uncoated printed circuit boards, making it best suited to clean, temperature-controlled switchrooms where moisture, conductive dust, and corrosive contaminants are limited. Its mechanical dimensions follow family code 302, allowing the chassis to fit panel layouts designed for compatible VLT AutomationDrive FC equipment. Available internal card positions can accommodate suitable communication, input and output, motion-control, EMC filter, or encoder interfaces when the application requires additional functionality.
