Product Description:
Danfoss manufactures the 131B0001 variable frequency drive for the VLT FC 302 Automation Drives series. It belongs to the VLT AutomationDrive FC product group and carries the 302 series identifier, aligning its physical format with related drives in the series. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a modulated output, the unit allows a PLC or another controller to regulate motor speed in pumps, fans, conveyors, and other automated equipment. Variable-speed operation can improve process control while reducing unnecessary energy consumption when an application operates below full load.
The drive supplies 4.0 kW of continuous power, which is equal to 5.0 HP and is suitable for midrange machine and HVAC applications. It accepts an input of 380–500 VAC from a three-phase power supply, allowing direct connection to common 400 V industrial distribution systems. Its IP20 chassis enclosure protects against accidental contact with hazardous internal parts, but the drive must be mounted inside a suitable cabinet. Standard cable entries accommodate typical metric cable glands and support organized routing for power, motor, and control wiring. The drive does not include a brake chopper, so applications requiring rapid deceleration must use appropriate external braking equipment. Safe Stop functionality can disable motor-producing torque when connected and configured as required by the machine control system.
The drive supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, allowing the heat sink to release thermal energy into the enclosure airflow path. Conducted emissions are limited by the integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, which can reduce the need for separate electromagnetic compatibility components in suitable installations. The drive uses uncoated printed circuit boards, so it should operate in a clean, dry cabinet without condensation or corrosive airborne contaminants. It is supplied without a local control panel, although parameters can be accessed through the communication bus or a compatible temporarily connected keypad. The standard language pack supports the normal interface language selection available for this model. Proper cabinet ventilation and installation clearance help maintain airflow across the heat sink during continuous operation.
