The 167G0998 is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT EZ FC 321 Automation Drives series. It functions as the speed-control element between the line supply and a three-phase motor, letting users match shaft speed to process demand while protecting the mechanical train. By converting fixed-frequency input power into a modulated output, the unit supports energy-efficient operation in conveyors, pumps, and other production-line equipment that requires precise acceleration and deceleration profiles.

This model communicates with higher-level controllers through the optional EtherNet/IP MCA 121 interface, so status data and setpoints can travel over a standard Ethernet backbone. The power section is sized for motors up to 15 HP of mechanical output or 11 kW of electrical rating, and it accepts a three-phase 525–600 VAC line supply without additional transformers. A built-in DC link helps limit harmonic distortion, while the chassis enclosure carries an IP20 protection level for cabinet mounting in dry indoor locations. The drive ships without an RFI filter, without a B option card, and without a dedicated line disconnect, so electromagnetic compliance and line isolation must be handled externally. There is also no C-series software option or D-slot module installed.

An integrated brake chopper manages regenerated energy during rapid stops, and braking resistors can be connected at the factory-provided terminals. Operator input is handled through the network because the unit has no local control panel, and parameter access is available through external setup software with the standard language pack. Power and signal conductors enter through standard cable entries, and no secondary adaptation hardware is fitted in the B channel. The power board uses an uncoated PCB, so the installation area should be free of conductive dust. No C0 or C1 options are installed.
