The 132L4852 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT EZ FC 321 Automation Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into variable voltage and frequency so that three-phase induction motors can start smoothly, run at energy-efficient speeds, and remain protected against overloads. By adjusting output frequency and voltage together, it gives connected motors controlled acceleration, steadier process speed, and lower stress on belts, impellers, and couplings. The unit is deployed on conveyor lines, fan arrays, and process pumps where precise speed regulation and integrated network control improve throughput and reduce mechanical stress.

Fieldbus connectivity is provided by the EtherNet/IP MCA 121 option card, giving cyclic control data and diagnostics over standard industrial Ethernet. The drive accepts three-phase 380–500 VAC input power, a range that covers typical 400 V and 480 V plants without an autotransformer. Its continuous output capability is 15 kW, which is equivalent to 20 HP for compatible motor applications. A sealed construction rated IP66 with a NEMA 4X backplate blocks dust ingress and high-pressure water, allowing wall mounting in washdown zones. To minimize conducted noise, the integral RFI Class A2 (C3) filter limits emissions so additional line filters are unnecessary in most installations.

The integrated brake chopper handles excess DC-link energy during fast deceleration or overhauling loads, preventing overvoltage trips. Local operation is handled through the Graphical Local Control Panel, which provides parameter access, trending, and fault readout without external tools. The display also lets operating values and alarms be viewed directly at the drive. Wiring is simplified by smooth cable entries with imperial threads, so North American conduit fittings can be attached without adapters. The unit ships with the Standard Language Pack, its printed circuit boards are left uncoated, and no B, C, D, or mains options are included.
