The 132L4640 is an AC drive from Danfoss in the VLT EZ FC 321 Automation Drives series. It regulates motor speed in factory automation by adjusting supply frequency and voltage to match process demand. It is intended for industrial automation applications where a motor must respond to changing speed commands during conveying, machine coordination, and repetitive start and stop cycles. By varying output frequency and voltage, the drive matches motor operation to process demand on higher-voltage lines while supporting integrated safe stop capability. This makes it suitable for equipment that needs both steady-state speed control and controlled acceleration or deceleration during normal production.

The drive operates from a three-phase 525–600 VAC supply and delivers a continuous mechanical output of 37 kW, which is equivalent to 50 HP at the shaft. Protection against dust and water is provided by an IP66 / NEMA 4X backplate, which allows direct wall mounting in wet or dusty areas without a secondary enclosure. A built-in brake chopper dissipates excess energy during rapid deceleration, which helps control DC-bus voltage when driven loads slow down quickly. No RFI filter, mains option, or A and B hardware options are installed, so any additional line conditioning or mains isolation must be provided externally.

Cable entry uses standard cable entries under Adaptation A, while Adaptation B adds no extra glands or plates. The control face includes a graphical local control panel for parameter access, and the drive can still accept remote commands if that panel is removed. No C option software, C0 option, or C1 option is installed. Conformal coating is omitted, leaving the boards as uncoated PCBs, so the installation should avoid aggressive vapors. The unit uses the latest standard software release with a standard language pack, and no D option is installed.
