Product Description:
The Danfoss 132L4554 drive belongs to the VLT EZ FC 321 Automation Drives series. It is a frequency converter intended to regulate motor speed and torque in automated production lines, conveying equipment, and pumping systems. In everyday use, it converts fixed plant power into a controlled output for an AC motor. That control supports smoother starts, adjustable running speed, and closer matching between motor behavior and the needs of the driven equipment. The unit is suited to general-purpose process and machine control where stable motor regulation is required during changing load conditions.
Rated continuous output of 15 kW corresponds to about 20 HP, so the inverter can supply medium-sized pumps, fans, or compressors. The input section accepts three-phase 200 to 240 VAC, allowing use on low-voltage distribution systems common in North American facilities. The chassis has an IP20 chassis enclosure rating, so it must be installed inside a protective cabinet while still fitting standard panel layouts. For dynamic deceleration, an integrated brake chopper routes excess DC-bus energy to an external resistor to help keep bus voltage within a controlled range during stopping. This arrangement is useful where regenerated energy from the motor would otherwise raise internal voltage during rapid slowdowns.
Electromagnetic compatibility is improved by the factory-fitted RFI Class A2 (C3) filter, which helps reduce conducted noise on shared electrical systems. Local operation is handled through the Graphical Local Control Panel, giving the user a direct way to view settings and operating data at the drive. The local display also provides convenient access to status information without requiring a separate external interface. The control boards use an uncoated PCB, so the unit is better suited to clean, dry cabinet environments than to areas with heavy moisture or corrosive contaminants. Standard cable entries at the bottom support orderly routing of mains and motor conductors inside the enclosure.
