The 132L4429 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT EZ FC 321 Automation Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency, three-phase mains power into a pulse-width-modulated output for controlling induction motors. Plant control systems can use the drive to adjust motor speed in conveyors, pumps, and ventilation equipment throughout automated production lines. Regulating speed according to process demand can reduce unnecessary motor operation and provide smoother acceleration than direct connection to the mains supply.
Rated for a continuous output of 15 kW, the drive can deliver up to 20 HP to a connected motor while accepting a three-phase 200–240 VAC supply. Its enclosure has an IP20 chassis protection level, so the unit must be installed inside a suitable cabinet that provides the necessary protection against dust and moisture. Conducted emissions are limited by the built-in RFI Class A2 (C3) filter, supporting connection to industrial power networks without requiring a separate radio-frequency interference filter. An integrated brake chopper routes regenerative energy to a compatible braking resistor during rapid deceleration. This function helps control rising DC-bus voltage when a driven load returns energy to the converter. Communication with higher-level PLCs is provided by the EtherNet/IP MCA 121 module installed in option slot A, enabling network access to operating parameters and diagnostic information.
The front door includes a Graphical Local Control Panel that presents text menus, operating values, and trend curves for local configuration and monitoring. These displayed values correspond with data available through the fieldbus interface, allowing local and network-based observation of drive operation. Power and control conductors enter through standard cable entries that accommodate the default Adaptation A arrangement and common metric gland plates. The printed circuit boards are uncoated, so the drive should be installed in a clean, dry enclosure that protects its electronics from condensation and corrosive airborne contaminants. No dedicated mains option is installed, which means the unit does not include an integral disconnect or bypass module. External switching and isolation equipment must therefore be selected separately when those functions are required by the installation.”
