Product Description:
Danfoss designs the control drive 176F7307 for precise motor control. It provides an output voltage range from zero to 100% and it delivers an output frequency range between 0.1 - 400 Hz. The drive supports 1.9 kVA of continuous power, along with a current of 5 A and an intermittent rated current of 7.5 A for a short time interval.
The 176F7307 drive provides 1 HP of normal shaft output power and requires 11.5 A of rated current at the input from a single phase 200 to 240 VAC supply source. It offers 0.1 – 600 s of adjustable ramp timing and delivers 150% starting torque for one minute, along with 200% for five seconds. The unit comes in an enclosure type of IP20 for electrical protection and requires proper ventilation. Its control interface provides 6 programmable inputs, 1 programmable analog input AV1 is selectable for voltage or current and its maximum auxiliary load is 10 mA. The 176 drive features a relay output at points RA, RB, RC with rating of 5 mA at 120 V AC and it supports a photo coupler output as well that is rated for 48 V, 50 mA maximum. It communicates through RJ11 connector for RS485 protocol.
The 176F7307 drive withstands 5 kA of short circuit current and its maximum input switching on L1, L2, L3 points is 100 times per hour. Its input fuse is rated 20 A and its main circuit wiring is rated for 600 V; 14 AWG maximum. The unit connects to a maximum wire length of 330 ft for motor of 240 V and it provides a dedicated grounding E terminal for safety. It supports optional brake resistor connection at terminals B1 and B2.
Frequently Asked Questions about 176F7307:
Q: Why is the 150% starting torque capability important in the 176F7307 drive?
A: It enables the motor to handle heavy startup loads without stalling. This is especially useful for machinery with high inertia like conveyors or mixers.
Q: How does the adjustable ramp timing in the Danfoss 176F7307 improve motor performance?
A: The ramp timing between 0.1–600 seconds allows smooth acceleration and deceleration. This reduces mechanical stress on connected equipment and extends overall system life.
Q: What is the advantage of having 6 programmable inputs on the Danfoss 176F7307?
A: These programmable inputs provide flexibility for external control signals. Users can configure them to match process requirements, improving customization of machine automation.
Q: Why does the Danfoss 176F7307 use a photo coupler output rated at 48 V, 50 mA?
A: The photo coupler output provides electrical isolation between the control and power circuits. This improves safety while preventing signal interference.
Q: How does the RS485 protocol via RJ11 improve communication in the 176F7307 drive?
A: The RS485 enables stable multi-device networking with long-distance communication. This ensures compatibility with industrial control systems such as PLCs and SCADA.
