Product Description:
The 176F7304 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss as part of the VLT Adjustable Micro Drives series. It is designed to control motor speed in light-duty industrial automation applications such as small conveyors, fans, and pump skids. By rectifying and inverting incoming power, the unit supplies controlled frequency and voltage to the connected induction motor. This operation allows smoother acceleration, reduced inrush current, and energy savings within compact control panels.
The drive connects to a three-phase mains supply and draws a maximum input current of 6.3 A under full load. On the output side, it provides a continuous current of 5.0 A and can deliver up to 7.5 A during short overloads. It supplies 1.9 kVA to the motor terminals. During startup, it can produce 200% of rated torque for 5 seconds, eliminating the need for a mechanical soft starter. This electrical capacity corresponds to a rated motor output of 0.75 kW when the drive is paired with a compatible motor. Upstream protection is provided by a 20 A time-delay fuse, and the inverter circuitry withstands fault currents up to 5,000 A. A balanced three-phase output waveform is programmed through six digital inputs that support run commands, speed selection, and fault reset.
The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, permitting installation inside standard switchgear without additional finger guards. Motor leads up to 14 AWG can be clamped to the power terminal block. The terminal screws can be tightened to 4 kg-cm to maintain secure connections under vibration. A maximum cable run of 330 ft is supported before supplemental output filters are recommended, providing flexibility when the drive is panel-mounted away from the motor. With a mass of only 1.75 lb, the unit can be secured to DIN-rail or backplate hardware without adding substantial weight to the enclosure.
