Product Description:
The VLT 6122 is a part of the VLT 6000 drive series that is developed by Danfoss with an input supply rating of 380 to 460 V at 50/60 Hz. It provides a rated output current of 177.0 A and a maximum output of 195.0 A. This drive offers a shaft output of 125 HP and it requires 120 mm² of power as well as motor cable for connectivity.
The VLT 6122 drive feature a frequency range from 0 to 120 Hz for the 380 - 460 V input and supports up to 450 Hz in certain configurations. It has an efficiency rating of 98% for energy savings at maximum load and its power loss is 1.7660 kW. The drive supports both analogue and digital input signals. It offers eight digital inputs with a voltage range of 0 - 24 V DC and it also has two programmable analogue inputs with voltage ranges of 0 - 10 V DC, along with a current input between 0/4 - 20 mA. The VLT drive includes three programmable pulse inputs with a maximum frequency of 20 kHz and PNP open collector configuration. It also supports serial communication via RS485, following Modbus RTU and Profibus protocols. This unit offers two relay outputs with AC and DC load capability.
The VLT 6122 drive offers 3 msec of system response time and in open loop its speed accuracy is measure as 0.5% of the actual speed, while in close loop system it attains 0.1% of actual speed accuracy. For safety, it provides protection against motor overload, earth faults and short circuits, while it monitors the heat sink temperature and automatically cuts off if it exceeds 75°C for the IP20 version. The drive is available in both IP20 and IP54 enclosures., with weights 54 kg and 77 kg respectively.
Frequently Asked Questions about VLT 6122:
Q: What role do the programmable pulse inputs play in the VLT 6122 drive?
A: They enable speed and position feedback with up to 20 kHz frequency handling. This allows accurate synchronization in automation and process control tasks.
Q: How do relay outputs in the VLT 6122 improve system integration?
A: The relay outputs allow direct control of external devices. This simplifies wiring and reduces the need for additional external relays.
Q: Why does the VLT 6122 drive monitor heat sink temperature?
A: Its monitoring prevents overheating and ensures safe operation. Automatic shutdown at 75°C protects the drive from thermal damage and prolongs its service life.
Q: What advantage does the 3 msec system response time of VLT 6122 provide?
A: It ensures quick reaction to control inputs. This makes it suitable for dynamic applications where fast load changes occur.
Q: How does the overload protection in the VLT 6122 safeguard motors?
A: The drive detects excess current and reduces load to prevent winding damage. This helps maintain motor reliability in demanding applications.
