Product Description:
The VLT 6000 Danfoss Drive offers a power capacity of 18.5 kW to efficiently operate medium sized motors in fans, pumps and compressors. This unit equips durable input and output terminal blocks designed to secure both incoming power cables and motor connections.
The VLT 6000 HVAC drive has a built in metallic thermal sink that disperse heat away from internal circuits. It can function smoothly in surroundings where the air temperature reaches up to 40 degrees Celsius. Its motor side is capable of supplying between 34 and 37.5 amperes output current depending on the precise loading conditions. It is fitted with a rotating blower at the base and back portion which actively pushes air through the housing. Its circuit board dedicated to logic and command is interconnected by flat and ribbon shaped connectors that distribute control signals to its various portions. It needs a 3 phase electrical feed ranging between 380 and 460 volts of alternating current which allows it to be installed in common industrial supply networks. It reproduces a three phase supply whose magnitude can vary anywhere from 0 up to the same level as the mains it receives. It is able to withstand room air temperatures up to 45 °C under tougher operational scenarios.
This VLT 6000 HVAC drive cabinet meets a low level protective standard which means it is suitable for indoor placement and prevents fingers or large dust particles. It can produce motor frequencies beginning as low as 0.1 hertz and reaching all the way up to 1000 hertz. It also includes an operator interface at the front face that is made up of buttons and a screen.
Frequently Asked Questions about VLT 6000:
Q: How does the internal heatsink improve reliability?
A: The aluminum heat-dissipation structure channels thermal energy away from sensitive electronics. This helps prevent overheating, extending the drive’s operational lifespan and maintaining stable performance in continuous use.
Q: Why does the VLT 6000 include a rear-mounted cooling fan?
A: The integrated fan ensures airflow across the components, reducing internal temperature rise during heavy operation. This active cooling supports consistent output and reduces the risk of thermal derating.
Q: How do the input/output terminal blocks affect installation?
A: The heavy-duty connectors simplify wiring for both mains and motor leads. Their secure fastening design minimizes the chance of loose connections in environments prone to vibration.
Q: How does adjustable output frequency enhance system control?
A: By delivering a variable frequency from nearly zero up to very high levels, the drive fine-tunes motor speed. This allows precise regulation of airflow, pressure, and pump output for energy optimization.
Q: What do the green control terminals allow technicians to connect?
A: These points accept both digital and analog signals, enabling start/stop commands, speed references, or feedback connections. This flexibility supports integration into broader automation or building management systems.
