The 178F6424 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. Within building automation systems, the drive modulates fan and pump speeds so airflow, water circulation, and compressor loads can follow real-time demand instead of operating at a fixed frequency. Matching motor output to the required duty cycle can reduce energy consumption and mechanical stress in air-handling units, chillers, and boiler loops. Variable-speed operation also allows connected equipment to respond gradually to changing pressure, temperature, and flow requirements.
The power section accepts a three-phase input of 380–460 VAC, covering common low-voltage power systems used in commercial and industrial facilities. Its motor output is rated at 1.1 kW / 1.5 HP, making it suitable for small supply fans, exhaust fans, and secondary circulation pumps. The electronics are housed in a book-style IP20 enclosure that fits narrow control cabinets while allowing cooling air to pass through the upper and lower vents.
