Product Description:
The 178B3306 Drive offers robust versatility with protective enclosures and is compatible across global power frequencies. This Danfoss drive has a response time of 3 milliseconds and a strong 12.8 kVA output at 240 volts and ensures efficient performance in demanding industrial automation tasks.
The 178B3306 drive is capable of delivering motor operation across a wide range of cycles per second that varies from a complete standstill at zero Hz up to a 1000 Hz. It is built to accept input electrical supply in the low voltage three phase range from 200–240 volts. The amount of useful work it can provide is defined by 7.5 kilowatts that is roughly equivalent to powering several industrial pumps, fans or compressors. It is expected to consume no more than 30 amperes from the supply line that defines the electrical demand. It can still manage motor velocity across a wide spectrum in an open loop model and it can slow down to 1:100 of synchronous speed. The amount of current it sends to the motor at full output is a little over 30.8 A. It has 16 mm2 conductor size for connections to the motor, braking circuitry and the bus for the motor supply and 6 mm2 for braking which is approximately equivalent to AWG2.
This VLT 6000 drive releases about 545 watts as waste heat when functioning at its heaviest permissible workload. It has an efficiency rating of 96% which means very less amount of the input energy is lost. It offers torque ten percent higher than the rated steady torque for up to 60 seconds when it initiates motor operation. To safeguard against excessive currents the protective fuses that can be installed on the supply line is 50 A.
Frequently Asked Questions about 178B3306:
Q: How does the wide frequency range of the 178B3306 Drive affect motor applications?
A: It allows precise speed control from near standstill to very high-speed operation. This makes the drive adaptable to both slow-moving conveyors and high-speed spindles.
Q: What benefit does a 96% efficiency rating provide in daily operation?
A: High efficiency reduces wasted energy and lowers heat dissipation. This improves reliability while cutting down on cooling requirements and operating costs.
Q: How does a 3 millisecond system response impact automation performance?
A: It enables the drive to react almost instantly to load or command changes. This ensures stable operation in processes demanding tight speed regulation.
Q: Why does the 178B3306 Drive allow oversized protective fuses up to 50 A?
A: Larger fuse ratings safeguard against short-circuit conditions while tolerating inrush currents. This ensures protection without nuisance tripping during motor startup.
Q: How does the overload torque capability support heavy-duty starts?
A: The drive can temporarily deliver torque beyond rated levels. This helps start pumps, compressors, or conveyors with high inertia without stalling.
