Product Description:

Danfoss 178B2106 belongs to the VLT 6000 series of HVAC drives that are created to ensure efficient and credible control of ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.

It can use an input voltage of 3 x 380-480 V ±10% and is applicable in a variety of industrial and commercial power applications. The drive allows a variable power between 0.55 kW and 18.5 kW, and can therefore be adopted in small- and medium-sized HVAC systems. It is driven at an input frequency of 50/60 hertz that satisfies the international standards prescribed for industrial uses. Having an output frequency range from 0 Hz to 1000 Hz, it has the flexibility to suit different motor control demands and the dynamic working conditions of various systems. Constructed with safety and protection considerations, the 178B2106 offers 100 percent short-circuit protection and earth protection, which ensures performance in harsh conditions. It is based on EN 50178 standards with an added measure of galvanic isolation.

The drive does not derate at ambient temperatures up to 45 °C, and therefore is resilient in sensitive thermal management environments. It is designed in three phases and may be mounted side-by-side to save useful space in control cabinets. The drive has 110 percent overload capacity in one minute, so it can be able to handle peak loads momentarily. A temperature-controlled fan is used to provide cooling, increasing efficiency as it can control airflow as needed, lowering energy usage and wear. The unit includes a 24 V incremental encoder input that allows AB to provide feedback control. The 178B2106 also has several fieldbus communication standards, such as DeviceNet, Modbus RTU, and Profibus DP, making it easy to be integrated into modern building management and automation systems.
