The 178B0236 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss within the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. It is designed for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installations that require precise motor speed control. By modulating centrifugal fans, pumps, or compressors, the unit allows building automation controllers to match airflow and water flow to changing demand. Reducing motor speed during partial-load operation can lower electrical consumption and limit unnecessary mechanical stress on connected equipment.
The drive delivers up to 4.0 kW / 5.0 HP to the motor terminals and operates from a three-phase 380–460 VAC supply. This input range supports the power systems commonly used for commercial building equipment. The integrated RFI network meets Class A1 and Class B filter limits, helping to control conducted emissions without additional filtering components. Its book-style IP20 enclosure supports side-by-side mounting in narrow control cabinets while providing protection against accidental contact with internal electrical parts.
